
Todd Gaffke
Professor of Saxophone
Todd Gaffke is assistant professor of saxophone at The University of Akron, where he teaches saxophone, coaches saxphone quartets, performs with the UA Faculty Jazz Ensemble, and coordinated the UA Summer Saxophone Camp. He was previously visiting college lecturer at UA. Prior to joining the UA faculty Gaffke taught at Grand Valley State University.
He has performed in venues througout the United States and in Europe as a solo, chamber, orchestral, and jazz musician. In addition, he has won numerous awards including Downbeat Magazine's Student Music Award for Classical Soloist: Graduate Division. He performed with the Harry James Orchestra and is a member of the North American Saxophone Alliance, the College Music Society and NAfME.
Dr. Gaffke holds DMA and MM degrees from Michigan State University where he studied with Joseph Lulloff, and a BM from Central Michigan University.
